Dairy Australia - Dairy information for Australian Dairy Farmers and the industry

Primary content

Dairy Australia’s Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for FY 2019-20 shows that Dairy Australia is responding to a challenging environment for the dairy industry.

The AOP is the result of extensive consultation and feedback from farmers, government and representative bodies.

Demand for dairy products remains strong and the export market is balanced, but high costs and challenging seasonal conditions on-farm are expected for at least the first half of FY20.

All activities and income have been reviewed and expenditure has been reduced. Investments have been prioritised to deliver on each strategic priority – Profitable Dairy Farms, Capable People and Trusted Dairy Industry. Major projects are on track to deliver long-term goals and gains for farmers.

Dairy Australia’s current Strategic Plan is extended for 12 months (until the end of FY20) as the industry develops the Australian Dairy Plan, which will guide Dairy Australia’s next strategic plan.
