How we work for you
Dairy NSW develops plans and programs that strengthen our states dairy industry. We work with farm policy organisations, government agencies, milk processors, other RDPs, and dairy services who like us, are committed to ensuring our industry's sustainability and profitability.
Since 1996, Dairy NSW has supported dairy farmers by coordinating regionally specific:
There are eight nationally assigned RDPs across the country, funded by Dairy Australia and the dairy service levy, to represent and support dairy farmers in key dairying areas.
Dairy NSW's vision is to be a trusted partner, valued resource, and to engage with NSW dairy farmers.
Our work with potential and current investment partners to develop and provide effective programs for farmers. We want all projects to directly benefit the industry, so their measure of success is when they make real returns on investment.
Our board is skills-based, meaning we elect people with real-world industry experience, business skills, and a strong network. Learn about our board members backgrounds and experience.
Dairy NSW represents farmers from the southern and central regions though Wagga Wagga, Bega and north coast regions to Kempsey. Many of our programs are effected through Dairy NSW's six Regional Dairy Groups (RDG).
Proudly, our region produces approximately 8% of Australia's national output of milk. That makes us the second largest production region outside of Victoria. Our farms provide year-round servicing of key metropolitan and regional markets for both fresh and long-life dairy products.

How Dairy NSW is financed
Dairy Australia's annual investment in Dairy NSW (and all RDPs) comes from dairy farmer levies and government contributions based on each region's milk production. We also work to receive funds through:
- Natural resource management (NRM) bodies
- State, federal, and local governments, and
- Other interested investors.
Funding supports our work for dairy farmers to build a sustainable and internationally competitive dairy industry. Read our Annual Activity Report to review how our funding is spent.
