What we do

Hunter Dairy Development Group (Hunter DDG) represents the interests of local dairy farmers and conducts research and development for the benefit of the local industry.

Supported by Dairy NSW and Dairy Australia, Hunter DDG applies for funding from dairy industry levies to carry out local research projects and extension activities.

Identifying issues of importance to local dairy farmers, Hunter DDG organises trials and training to resolve these issues. Hunter DDG is strongly supported by Department of Primary Industries (DPI) NSW, milk processors and agribusiness.

Initiatives

Dairy biosecurity

Dairy biosecurity is vital for protecting your farm. Dairy farmers and their advisors now have access to a new online biosecurity tool to build their skills and adapt their management approach to biosecurity risks.

Hay and grain reports

The hay and grain report is commissioned by Dairy Australia to provide an independent and timely assessment of hay and grain markets in each dairying region. The report is updated 40 weeks per year.
